Final Programme online! Deltas in Times of Climate Change II, 24-26 September 2014 It is an exciting programme with three days of plenaries and more than 100 parallel sessions. Sessions that are interesting for scientists, practitioners and politicians working on climate change adaptation. During the conference there will be plenty of time to meet with interesting people from around the world and extend your network.

International Climate Adaptation Business Challenge – Submit your idea before 1 May! Impacts of climate change are already happening. How do we adapt? Adapting to climate change offers new opportunities for business and innovative entrepreneurs. The Dutch research programme Knowledge for Climate and EU climate innovation initiative Climate-KIC want to stimulate new climate business. Therefore they organise the second edition of the Climate Adaptation Business Challenge. The challenge is open to anybody with an innovative idea or interest in contributing to new climate business.

Call for scientific abstracts Deltas in Depth now open! In this call we invite you to submit an abstract of scientific findings you wish to present in one of the science sessions. Authors who wish to present a paper or poster related to the scientific programme are invited to submit an abstract for a presentation or a poster for one of the eleven scientific themes.
Deadline submission abstract: 15 March.

All results of the Deltas II conference online! The conference, with over 1300 participants from more than 50 countries was a great succes. Next to the plenary sessions more than 100 parallel sessions were held. Public and private responsibilities for climate adaptation, a legal-administrative analysis and a first assessment In this research project the legal responsibilities for adaptation were systematically identified and assessed in a number of critical and vulnerable sectors. The assessment was based on the criteria of completeness, transparency, legitimacy, and expected effectiveness.

Climate Proof Cities: Practical guidelines for climate proof cities Cities are vulnerable to the effects of climate change. The most efficient way to make cities more climate proof is through numerous relatively small and local measures, which can often be carried out parallel to major maintenance or renovation work. These were the findings of a final report published recently by the Climate Proof Cities research programme.

Knowledge for Climate 'harvest': Innovation in Climate Adaptation Scientists, policy makers and entrepreneurs worked together in the Knowledge for Climate programme to research ways in which the Netherlands can be climate proofed. A book is published for each of the eight research themes within the programme. This book discusses the overall design of the programme, highlights some remarkable results and discusses lessons learned.

Book released: 'Adapting to an Uncertain Climate - Lessons from Practice' This book provides examples of adaptation decision making in the form of case studies: on water supply management, on flooding, on transport and utilities, and a report examining communication of large numbers of climate scenarios in Dutch climate adaptation workshops.

Deltas in Times of Climate Change II succesfully held with around 1200 attendees Deltas in Times of Climate Change II in Rotterdam (NL) was all about sharing knowledge, experiences and building a worldwide network of researchers, governments and businesses. More than 1.200 participants from over 50 countries gathered for three days to participate in Round Table discussions, sessions on the science behind climate change and practical workshops.

Kenia and Taiwan join Delta Alliance In 2009 the Delta Alliance was set up: an international knowledge-driven network for enhancing safety and sustainability in the delta regions of the world. Now that Kenya and Taiwan have joined the network, fourteen deltas over the whole world are members. Together they are acquiring the know-how needed to further develop their deltas and thus deal with the threats that are specific to delta regions.
